Our technician uses a special light to create a “reflection” on the damaged panel. By sighting back and forth, the technician can see the dents on the panel. Once the dents are identified, the technician uses rods of different shapes, lengths, and tips to gain access to the back side of the dent, and then “pushes” the dent out a little at a time. Or the technician will utilize a glue technique that allows him/her to glue special attachments to the damage, then attach a slide hammer to the attachment, and “pull” the damage out. A little buffing of the damaged area, then the repair is complete.

PDR is cost effective, affordable, and takes less time than the traditional method repair that involves sanding, filling, and refinishing. However, it can only be useful under certain circumstances. PDR will not work on sharp dents, or on straight body lines. Due to vehicle construction, access to the back side of damage is not possible, or the metal is too strong for the dent to be removed.
