- It's your choice to have your vehicle repaired at the shop of your choosing.
- Have your vehicle repaired by a reputable, professional repair shop.
- Ask to see a copy of the guarantee/warranty.
- Ask friends, family, or coworkers for referrals.
- Never drive your vehicle if you do not feel safe, the air bags are deployed, or there is cracked or broken glass.
- You do not need more than one estimate. Who has the time?
- Differences in estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include the necessary work required to return the vehicle to “pre-accident” condition.
- Choose a shop that has I-CAR trained estimators and technicians.
- Ask the shop if they are using Original Equipment Manufacturer car parts (OEM), or alternative parts (Used-LKQ, Aftermarket-A/M, Reconditioned-RECON).

Your Rights
Your insurance company may have suggestions or a list of preferred body shops, but by law YOU have the right to choose your own collision repair shop. It's your vehicle, so shop around, check out other shops.
